Dr. Idris Traylor retired after a 39-year career at Texas Tech University. In that time, he served
as a professor of Russian history, the director of the International Center for Arid and Semiarid Land Studies, executive director of the Office of International Affairs and director of the International Cultural Center. Dr. Traylor is committed to international education and global enrichment. He very generously endowed the Department of History with a travel award for students doing research in Russia or continental Europe. He told Melissa that he has been to Russia 22 times and we heard from others that he's been to 80 different countries.
