more sights
More of the Louvre. The place is huge: 35,000 objects in its permanent collection are housed in over 652,000 square feet. We didn't go in. We just looked around the grounds. The building is amazing. You can't see I.M. Pei's pyramid from here. It's in the Cour Carree on the east end.
Walking through the Tuilleries.
This is the place des Pyramides. It's at the intersection of Rue des Pyramides (commemorating Napoleon's victory in Egypt) and Rue Rivoli. The statue is of Joan of Arc and sculpted in 1874. Paris is full of beautiful statues.
